about
Janette Hill, has had a love of painting from an early age with a B.Ed Hons specialising in visual art that followed art college. North Yorkshire based oil painter Janette, finished her teaching career in 2021, allowing her to focus fully on painting.
Noticing her personal feelings of ‘awe’ when observing and being in nature, in her beautiful home county, Janette paints on medium and large canvasses, to allow your eyes to connect and feel a corresponding thrill, as a lens to ‘awe’, that encourages more everyday wonder.
Janette’s visual art enables you to pause, and perceive colours, patterns and textures, to pause and breath deeply, in order to restore and nurture your well being.
Supporters’ choice winner of The North York Moors Art Award 2022, celebrating 70 years of the National Park and a commission to paint the 2023 ‘Supreme Sheep Champion’ at The Great Yorkshire Show.
Janette took part in York Open Studios 2024.
